Description

We are looking to hire a Database Administrator for a Client. This candidate will provide comprehensive support for database administration, security, configuration management, performance tuning, and backup/recovery services across various database platforms for our client.  

Responsibilities
  • Manage database environments for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) server environments, which operate on both Linux and Microsoft Windows. 
  • Perform regular database backup and recovery functions to ensure data integrity and availability.  
  • Set up and automate monitoring tools to track database performance. 
  • Create and maintain a structured data repository/directory for database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, and permissions. 
  • Apply system patches and monitor their effects on operations. 
  • Optimize database performance for better efficiency. 
  • Configure databases to work with DoS Single Sign-On (SSO) systems (DoS PIV/ADFS/Okta). 
  • Ensure databases meet DoS security and performance standards. 
  • Help with planning and testing for business continuity and disaster recovery. 
  • Provide support during disaster recovery as needed. 
  • Provide on-site database support between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST), Monday through Friday, with availability for weekend operations as required. 
  • Offer backup support personnel to maintain uninterrupted service and address any emergent issues promptly. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field. 
  • Proven experience with database administration for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database environments. 
  • Strong understanding of database backup/recovery, performance tuning, and security best practices. 
  • Experience with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) server environments and familiarity with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. 
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity planning and Disaster Recovery processes. 
  • Ability to configure and support authentication solutions like DoS PIV/ADFS/Okta. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
